Tampa Bay announced Friday that it has signed safety Tanard Jackson to a contract, making him the first rookie draft pick to sign for the Buccaneers. Terms were not disclosed.
Jackson was a fourth-round pick (106th overall) of the Buccaneers in the 2007 NFL Draft. He was a three-year starter at Syracuse, seeing action primarily at cornerback in the defensive backfield. He played in 45 career games with 34 starts, totaling 165 tackles, five interceptions, 2.5 sacks, 8.5 tackles for loss and 14 passes defensed.
