Cox suspended for first four games of 2007

Tampa Bay cornerback Torrie Cox will miss the first four games of 2007 due to an NFL suspension.

Torrie Cox of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers has been suspended without pay for the team's first four regular-season games of 2007 for violating the NFL Substance Abuse Policy.

Cox's suspension begins on Friday, August 31. He is eligible to return to the Buccaneers' active roster on Monday, October 1 following the team's September 30 game against the Carolina Panthers.

Cox is eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games.

"We are hopeful that Torrie Cox can overcome this personal setback," Buccaneers general manager Bruce Allen said.
