Tampa Bay linebacker Derrick Brooks missed the morning workout with a slight hamstring issue, according to head coach Jon Gruden.

Brooks came off the practice field a bit before the conclusion of Friday afternoon's workout and appeared to be in a bit of discomfort. He said that he was fine physically when he emerged from the locker room more than a hour later.

Gruden said they felt Brooks would be out no more than a couple of days.

Brooks actually worked out during the afternoon practice, held in a ballroom at the Omni Resort at ChampionsGate, thanks to thunderstorms in Orlando. But that was a walkthrough, and no real indication of whether Brooks will work out on Sunday.

Brooks wasn't the only veteran to miss the morning workout. Defensive end Greg Spires, running back Michael Pittman and center John Wade did not work out. Gruden said several members of the team were under the supervision of the team's medical staff, but did not say who or why.

The Bucs typically give veterans several practices off during training camp, the most high profile of which is wide receiver Joey Galloway. He worked out Saturday morning, but he is expected to be gone in the afternoon to depart for New Orleans for Arena Bowl XXI, where his Columbus Destroyers are to play San Jose.
