Bucs put franchise tag on Bryant

Tampa Bay has placed a franchise tag on WR Antonio Bryant, meaning the he could receive a big pay increase.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have announced that they have placed the franchise tag on WR Antonio Bryant.

In 2008, Bryant put together one of the most prolific receiving seasons in Buccaneers history, setting career highs and leading the team with 83 receptions for 1,248 yards and seven touchdowns while being named the 2008 NFL Comeback Player of the Year by The Sporting News. In Week 14 at Carolina, Bryant recorded the second-best receiving performance in team history with a career-high 200 yards receiving on nine catches with two touchdowns.

Bryant, who enters his seventh season in the league, has played in 93 games with 71 starts and recorded 333 receptions for 5,085 yards and 26 touchdowns.
