With Saturday being the deadline for teams to cut their rosters down to 53 players, the Buccaneers some choices to make in order to cut 22 players from their roster. Who do you think the odd men out are? Who are the lucky 53 who will still be employed by the Bucs after Saturday? Here is a breakdown of what each player has done through the first three preseason games.

QUARTERBACKS (4)

5 Josh Freeman – In his first career NFL game, he saw reserve action at Tennessee and was 5-for-9 for 52 yards and one interception that was returned for a TD. At Jacksonville, he connected on 3-of-5 passes for 47 yards while rushing for a 28-yard scoring TD. In his final performance against Miami, he went 6-for-16 while passing for 50 yards.

7 Byron Leftwich – As a reserve against Tennessee, he completed 6-of-14 passes for 61 yards and one touchdown. He started for the team against Jacksonville where he connected on 6-of-12 passes for 63 yards. He was named the starter a few days after he started against Miami and completed 9-of-17 passes for 100 yards.

11 Josh Johnson - As a reserve against Tennessee, Johnson completed 3-of-5 passes for 15 yards while rushing once for a 43-yard score. At Jacksonville, he connected on 2-of-4 passes for 21 yards, but did not play against Miami.

12 Luke McCown - At Tennessee, McCown started his lone game in the preseason and completed 4-8 passes for 19 yards. He backed up Leftwich at Jacksonville where he connected on 6-of-9 passes for 51 yards and two touchdown passes with a QB rating of 120.8. He struggled though against Miami where he completed 5-of-11 passes for 39 yards.

RUNNING BACKS (5)

22 Clifton Smith - Working extensively as a reserve, Smith carried the ball five times for 27 yards. He followed that up with two carries for six yards while returning one punt for seven yards at Jacksonville. He worked as the punt returner against Miami as well; bring back two returns for 34 yards.

24 Carnell Williams - Was rested by Raheem Morris for the first two games of preseason. He did start against Miami though and led the team with a game-high 54 yards rushing on eight carries (6.8 avg.).

28 Derrick Ward - Against the Titans, Ward carried the ball four times for nine yards while catching one pass for seven yards. He started at running back against the Jaguars where he rushed five times for 40 yards while also making one reception. Against Miami, he carried the ball four times and caught two short passes.

32 Kareem Huggins - Has rushed for a team-high 43 yards on nine attempts during extensive action as a reserve against Tennessee. He also caught three passes for 14 yards and made one special teams tackle in that game. At Jacksonville, Huggins rushed for 31 yards on 10 carries, but did not play against Miami.

34 Earnest Graham - He started at running back at Tennessee where he carried the ball four times for one yard while catching one pass for one yard. After not playing at Jacksonville, Graham rushed five times for 39 yards against the Dolphins.

FULLBACKS (2)

FB 35 B.J. Askew - After seeing reserve action at fullback at Tennessee, Askew rushed for a game-high 52 yards on 14 carries as the starting fullback at Jacksonville. Against Miami, he carried the ball four times and caught one short pass.

FB 43 Jameel Cook - Worked at fullback in a reserve role at Tennessee and at Jacksonville. He did play against Miami as well.

WIDE RECEIVERS (9)

14 Patrick Carter - Has seen reserve action in all three preseason games. He made two receptions for 14 yards at Tennessee, one catch for six yards at Jacksonville, and two receptions for 18 yards against Miami.

15 Marcus Maxwell - Saw action against Miami and Tennessee where he made one catch for 15 yards.

16 Cortez Hankton - Played as a reserve in all three preseason games and caught one pass for 13 yards against the Dolphins.

18 Sammie Straighter - Considered to be one of the most impressive newcomers in Tampa, Stroughter played at Tennessee in a reserve role, recording three receptions for 42 yards. He also ran for 81 yards on three kickoff returns and returned two punt returns while making two special teams tackles as well. Against the Dolphins, he made one catch for 14 yards while returning one two kickoffs for 39 yards. His most impressive performance came at Jacksonville where he caught a nine-yard TD pass from Luke McCown and added a 75-yard Kickoff return, which led to another Buccaneer touchdown.

19 Mario Urrutia – He saw reserve action in all three preseason games. He made one reception for four yards at Tennessee, two receptions for 22 yards at Jacksonville, and one reception for 13 yards against the Dolphins.

80 Michael Clayton - Against Jacksonville, he made two receptions for 30 yards, but did not play at Tennessee or against Miami.

85 Maurice Stovall - Has started in all three preseason games while recording one catch for eight yards at Tennessee. His best game so far came at Jacksonville where he led the team with a game-high five catches for 42 yards. Against Miami, he led the team again with a game-high six receptions for 73 yards.

87 Brian Clark - Started at Tennessee where he caught two passes for 29 yards including a 24-yard touchdown and against Miami where he had one catch for six yards. Working in a reserve role at Jacksonville, he made one catch.

89 Antonio Bryant - Has not played in any preseason game due to injuries.

TIGHT ENDS (5)

46 Ryan Purvis - Has caught one pass in each preseason game so far. His longest reception was for 25 yards at Jacksonville. He also caught an 11 yard pass against Miami.

82 Kellen Winslow - Has started in all three preseason games while catching one pass for five yards at Tennessee.

84 Jason Pociask - After not playing against Tennessee, Pociask saw reserve action at Jacksonville and against Miami.

86 Jerramy Stevens ¬- As the starter at Tennessee, he made one reception for eight yards. He added two catches for six yards against the Dolphins. His best game was at Jacksonville where he made two receptions for 24 yards including a 17-yard TD from Luke McCown in the second quarter.

88 John Gilmore - Recorded one reception for seven yards at Tennessee, but has not played since due to injuries.

OFFENSIVE LINE (13)

C 52 Jeff Faine - Did not play in first two preseason games, but started at center against the Dolphins.

OL 62 Marc Dile - Saw action in all three preseason games. He has spent time at the guard and center position. Dile is considered one of the more versatile players on the offensive line.

OG 64 Marcus Johnson - After being released by the Raiders, Johnson was signed by the Bucs on September 2nd. Johnson played in 47 games with 18 starts for the Vikings from 2005-08 before signing with the Raiders in the offseason.

OT 65 Jeremy Trueblood - Has started at right tackle in all three preseason games.

C 66 Rob Bruggerman - Has seen reserve action at center in all three preseason games. With the recent release of Sean Mahan, Bruggerman moves into the backup center role. The questions of how long has not been answered.

OT 68 Xavier Fulton - Has seen reserve action at tackle in all three preseason games.

OT 69 Demar Dotson - Has seen reserve action at tackle in all three preseason games.

OT 70 Donald Penn - Has started at left tackle in all three preseason games.

OT 73 Anthony Alabi - Has seen reserve action at tackle in all three preseason games.

C 74 Jonathan Compass – After being released by the Raiders, Compass was claimed by the Buccaneers off waivers. He originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent.

OG 75 Davin Joseph - Has started at right guard in all three preseason games

OG 76 Jeremy Zuttah - Has started at left guard in all three preseason games.

OT 77 James Lee - Has seen reserve action at the tackle position in all three preseason games

DEFENSIVE LINEMEN (12)

DT/DE 60 Chris Brawell - In reserve action at Tennessee, Bradwell recorded one tackle, and one QB pressure. He followed that performance with two tackles, one sack, and one QB pressures at Jacksonville. Facing Miami, he posted one tackle, two QB pressures, one interception, one sack, and one pass defensed.

DE 61 Jarriett Buie - Has recorded two tackles and one tackle for loss in preseason so far. Buie was released by the team on August 29th but was re-signed on September 1st.

DE 71 Louis Holmes - In reserve action at Tennessee, Holmes recorded one tackle, one tackle for loss, one QB pressure and one pass defensed. He followed that performance with two tackles, one sack, one tackles for loss, two QB pressures, and one pass defensed at Jacksonville. Facing Miami, he posted two tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, and one QB pressure.

DT 72 Rashaad Duncan - In reserve action at Tennessee, Duncan recorded three tackles and one assist with one QB pressure. He followed that performance with one tackle, one tackle for loss, and one pass defensed at Jacksonville. Facing Miami, he posted three tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, and one QB pressure.

DE 90 Gaines Adams - Has started in all three preseason games while recording one tackle and one QB pressure against Miami.

DE 91 Stylez G. White - His strongest game came in reserve action at Tennessee, he recorded one sack for a 10 yard loss, two tackles for loss, one interception, three tackles with one QB pressure. At Jacksonville, White posted one tackle and one QB pressure, and he did the same against the Dolphins.

DT 92 Dre Moore - Has seen reserve action in all three preseason games. He had three tackles and two passes defensed at Jacksonville, and then recorded one tackle and one QB pressure against the Dolphins.

DT 93 Roy Miller - Has seen reserve action in all three preseason games. He posted one tackle and one QB pressure against Miami and also had one pressure at Jacksonville.

DE/DT 94 Kyle Moore - Worked at both the tackles and end position in reserve role at Tennessee. At Jacksonville, he had three tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack and one QB pressure. He followed that up with one tackle and one forced fumble against the Dolphins.

DT 95 Chris Hovan - He has started in all three preseason games and had one QB pressure at Jacksonville.

DE/DT 97 Jimmy Wilkerson - Started at defensive end at Jacksonville and Tennessee (one QB pressure). Against the Dolphins, Wilkerson posted three tackles, one sack, and one QB pressure.

DT 98 Ryan Sims - Has started in every preseason game so far. His strongest game came at Jacksonville where he had one tackle, one tackle for loss, and one QB pressure.

LINEBACKERS (8)

50 Matt McCoy - Has seen reserve action in all three preseason games while recording four tackles against the Dolphins and five tackles including one special teams tackle at Tennessee.

45 Bo Ruud - Made Buccaneer debut against the Dolphins

51 Barrett Ruud - Started in all three preseason games while recording one tackle at Tennessee and one tackle against Miami.

53 Niko Koutouvides - Has seen reserve action in all three preseason games. At Tennessee, he made four tackles, one tackle for loss, and one special teams tackles while recording one tackle and one QB pressure at Jacksonville and five tackles against Miami.

54 Geno Hayes - Saw reserved action at Jacksonville and Tennessee where he made four tackles with one QB pressure. Hayes started at WLB against the Dolphins where he had four tackles.

56 Rod Wilson - In reserve action at Tennessee, he recorded 0.5 sack, one tackle, one tackle for loss, and a QB pressure. Wilson had three tackles at Jacksonville, but did not play against the Dolphins.

57 Adam Hayward - Has seen reserve action in all three preseason games. Hayward tied the team lead with six tackles at Tennessee while posting two tackles and one QB pressure against the Dolphins. Against Jacksonville, he had four tackles and one pass defensed.

58 Quincy Black - Has started in all three preseason games. Black made one tackles at Jacksonville and recorded three tackles and one pass defensed against Miami.

CORNERBACKS (7)

20 Ronde Barber - Started at Tennessee (two tackles and one tackle for loss), at Jacksonville (one tackle and one defended pass), and at Miami (one tackle).

25 Aqib Talib - Has started all three preseason games, recording one tackle at Tennessee, two tackles at Jacksonville, and one tackle against Miami.

29 Kyle Arrington - In reserve action against the Titans, Arrington recorded three tackles, one tackle for loss, and one pass defensed. Starting against the Dolphins, he registered one tackle.

27 Torrie Cox - In reserve action at Tennessee, Cox recorded four tackles while adding two tackles at the Jaguars. He added one tackle and one pass defensed against the Dolphins.

31 E.J. Biggers - In reserve action against the Titans, he registered two tackles, one tackle for loss, and one pass defensed. Against Miami, Biggers recorded one tackle, one sack, and one QB pressure.

33 Elbert Mack - Recorded one tackle, one special teams tackles, and one pass defensed in reserve action at Tennessee. Posted two tackles at Jacksonville and one tackle against Miami.

41 Darrell Hunter - Saw some reserve action against the Dolphins.

SAFETIES (6)

21 Sabby Picitelli - Has started at Strong Safety in every preseason game. His strongest game came at the Titans expense when he snagged an interception while recording two tackles and one pass defensed. He recorded one tackle at Jacksonville and two tackles against Miami.

23 Jermaine Phillips - Started at linebacker at Tennessee (two tackles) and Jacksonville (three tackles). After being moved back to his original position, Jackson posted his first start at free safety against the Dolphins.

26 Will Allen - Against the Titans, Allen notched four tackles and one tackle for loss, but has not played since due to injuries.

30 Donte Nicholson - Recorded one tackle in reserve action at Tennessee, but has not played since due to injuries.

36 Tanard Jackson - Started at free safety at Tennessee (one tackle) and at Jacksonville where he recorded four tackles and one pass defensed. Coming off the bench against Miami, Jackson tied the team lead with six tackles in the game.

37 Steve Cargile - In reserve action at Jacksonville, Cargile recorded three tackles. He was impressive against the Dolphins by tying the team high tackles with six and recovering one fumble.

SPECIAL TEAMS (4)

K 3 Matt Bryant - Has not played in any preseason games due to hamstring injury

K 4 Mike Nugent - Against Tennessee, Nugent nailed a 51-yard attempt but missed from 50 yards away while adding lone PAT. He was 3-3 on PATs in Jacksonville and also connected on a 46-yard attempt. During the Dolphins game, he successfully made 2-3 field goals.

P 8 Dirk Johnson - In his first preseason action, he recorded five punts for 207 yards with an average of 41.4. At Jacksonville, he averaged 46.1 yards while punting seven times for 323 yards with a long of 56. Against Miami, he punted eight times for 280 yards (35.0 avg) with a long of 50 yards.

LS 48 Andrew Economos - Worked as team’s primary long snapper against Tennessee and Jacksonville while still seeing some action against the Dolphins. Registered a specials teams tackle during the Jaguars game.
