OG Sean Mahan: Works with first-team offense by The SportsXchange of BucsBlitz.com, September 17, 2009 at 1:03pm ET
Sean Mahan Profile
G Sean Mahan took most of the first-team reps at center in place of injured starter Jeff Faine, according to the SportsXchange. Mahan was re-signed earlier this week after the Bucs released the veteran center during the preseason. It appears likely that Mahan will start in place of Faine on Sunday against Buffalo.
Along with Mahan, the Bucs signed DE Tim Crowder earlier this week. To make room, they released CB Kyle Arrington and DE Maurice Evans while also releasing P A.J. Trapasso.
Crowder entered the draft as a second-round pick of the Denver Broncos in 2007. He has appeared in 19 games with one start, totaling 26 tackles, four sacks, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.
Mahan rejoins the Bucs after being released by the team Sept. 2.
The Bucs signed two cornerbacks to the practice squad Tuesday -- Brandon Anderson and Derrick Roberson. Anderson joined the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent in April. He briefly spent time on the Cleveland Browns practice squad before being released Sept. 9. Roberson entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans in 2007. He has spent time on the practice squad of the Texans and Vikings.
