Raheem Morris fired

Raheem Morris was unable to survive ending this season on a 10-game losing streak and was fired today by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers dropped to 4-12 this year after going 10-6 last year. He went 17-31 in three seasons as head coach. The Bcucaneers retained general manager Mark Dominik.

They are expected to pursue former Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher, among others. "We want to thank Coach Morris for all his hard work and dedication as head coach of the Buccaneers,'' Bucs co-chairman Joel Glazer said in a statement.

Added Dominik: "I have a lot of respect and appreciation for the passion coach Morris gave to our football team." The Buccaneers also fired their assistant coaches.

"Prayers and love go out to Raheem Morris, the coach who believed enough in me to draft me," defensive lineman Gerald McCoy wrote on his Twitter account. "Wish him all the best."
